Sam Veasna Conservation Tours (SVC) with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) are taking part in a series of expeditions to survey Masked Finfoot (Heliopais personatus) in Cambodia.

Masked Finfoot is one of the rarest bird species in Cambodia. It is thought that there are less then 2000 Masked Finfoot globally and the last sighting in Cambodia was in 2017.

The expedition between 18th and 21st of June 2020 are the first steps to locate Masked Finfoot. Here is a short video from one of our teams on this trip

Along with the WIldlife Conservation Society and local communities, our aim is to create a Masked Finfoot viewing tour so birders around the world can enjoy this elusive species…

… and save Masked Finfoot from extinction in Cambodia.

Donate to Masked Finfoot Expeditions

This project will take multiple expeditions and time to train and educate the local communities on the importance of conserving Masked Finfoot. SVC Tours with WCS are fully commited to saving Masked Finfoot through ecotourism but we need your help. Donate today and protect a species on the verge of extinction in Cambodia.
