Number of mature individuals in the wild: 670

Key Facts: Cambodia is the last hotspot of White-shouldered Ibis along with Indonesia and Laos.

Red-headed Vulture

IUCN Red List Classification: Critically Endangered


Location: Beong Toal Vulture Restaurant

Number of mature individuals in the wild: 2500-10000

Key Facts: Rapid decline of Red-headed Vultures in the 21st century has been through the use of pharmaceutical NSAID diclofenac, a highly toxic substance to Red-headed Vultures, in livestock.

IUCN Red List Classification: Critically Endangered

Location: Beong Toal Vulture Restaurant

Number of mature individuals in the wild: 2500-10000

Key Facts: It is thought that White-rumped Vulture is now extinct in Cambodia’s neighbouring countries Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.

 

Slender-billed Vulture

IUCN Red List Classification: Critically Endangered

Location: Beong Toal Vulture Restaurant

Number of mature individuals in the wild: 1000-2500

Key Facts: Cambodia is the Southernmost country the Slender-billed Vulture inhabits. The Northernmost being Nepal.

Bengal Florican

IUCN Red List Classification: Critically Endangered

Location: Stoung Bengal Florican Conservation Area

Number of mature individuals in the wild: 250-1000

Key Fact: The biggest loses of Bengal Florican occurred between 1995 and 2005 when dry season rice cultivation reduced 65% of the Bengal Florican grassland habitat.
